Goals of the Week: Post-Falcao hangover edition

This week's top 5 goals scored around the planet by players that are not Radamel Falcao.

Paolo Bruno

Of course we were tempted to make our top 5 goals of the week consist solely of the 5 goals Radamel Falcao scored in one game. Of course we were. But we've already posted a video of that here, and repeating the same content is not only bad for our reputation, but also harmful to you the reader, and more importantly to our SEO. So here's some other goals scored instead. They weren't all scored in the same game by the same guy, but you play the cards you're dealt.

5. Steven Fletcher - SUNDERLAND vs. Reading

The commentator appears to have confused him with Manchester United water-carrier Darren Fletcher, but don't let that curb your enjoyment of this smooth backheeled finish. In a Martin O'Neill team, too! I bet he made him do double training the next day as punishment.

4. Francesco Totti - AS ROMA vs. Fiorentina

Look, Totti's great, we all know that, so I want to use this space to talk about something else while we're in Italy. We're coming up to Christmas, and I'm sorry, but... Panettone. It's rubbish. It's too light, doesn't really taste of anything, it's got no substance to it... Italy have given us enough great things, like Francesco Totti, for us to admit this.

3. Rajiv van la Parra - SC HEERENVEEN vs. Roda JC

"AYAROUBALOATATAIOTSLEBEIALA!" - the commentator when this goal was scored. I don't speak Dutch, but I'm pretty sure that doesn't need translating. Pretty sure.

2. Adnan Haidar - LEBANON vs. Oman

An obscure goal, but nobody could deny that it deserves to be here. Two touches to control and then a laser-guided top-corner finish. Great stuff.

1. Ricky van Wolfswinkel - SPORTING vs. Benfica

Not only is Ricky van Wolfswinkel flat-out gorgeous with a better name than you, he also scores flying backheel goals like it ain't no thing. He's also linked with Manchester United, who are light on classy Dutch strikers right now.
