You'll be excused for not realizing that the Canadians are playing their national championship right now. It's sponsored by Amway. They call it the Voyageurs' Cup. The winner gets a spot in CONCACAF Champions League. Now you'll know about it because of Mr. Eric Hassli, who struck as impressive a volley as you're likely to ever see.
What made it even better was when it came: Stoppage time with the Vancouver Whitecaps in danger of heading to Toronto down a goal in the second leg.
Just absolutely beautiful. The ball must have traveled close to 40 yards and Hassli was able to just line it up and give Toronto FC goalkeeper Milos Kocic no chance at all.
Hassli is kinda known for these things. You probably remember the goal he scored against Kasey Keller and the Seattle Sounders last year. For my money, this is even more impressive as this one was pure power and precision.
