Camilo Sanvezzo is a bit of an enigma. On one hand, he scores impressive goals. On the other, his effort is often questioned. What can't be taken away is that he tends to come up big when the Vancouver Whitecaps need him most.
The Brazilian showed why he is one of the league's best scorers again, scoring a pair of goals to salvage a tie with the Portland Timbers on Sunday. HIs equalizer was truly amazing. As the video above shows, Camilo took a volleyed pass from YP Lee and scissor-kicked it inside the near post in the 78th minute.
It was Sanvezzo's 18th goal of the season, but more importantly his second of the game. It also capped a wild two-minute stretch in which Sanvezzo scored two equalizers, sandwiched around Will Johnson's goal that gave the Timbers a short-lived lead.
Sanvezzo's second goal also overshadowed what otherwise would have been one of the best goals of the week from Darlington Nagbe, who blasted in a first-half shot from nearly 25 yards out.
