Fulham manager Rene Meulensteen has confirmed that Clint Dempsey has undergone a medical at Fulham with a view to moving to the club on loan.
Dempsey moved to Tottenham Hotspur after several impressive seasons at the West London club, but struggled to nail down a place in the Spurs team. He then moved back to his home country to sign for the Seattle Sounders, but with the MLS currently off season, Dempsey could be loaned back to his former club for January and February as he looks to regain his form for the upcoming World Cup in the summer.
MLS players have taken the opportunity to move to the Premier League on loan before, most notably Landon Donovan moving to Everton. David Beckham also had spells at AC Milan while contracted to the MLS.
Meulensteen also stated in his press conference that Dimitar Berbatov was "committed" to the club despite rumours that the striker is looking for a January exit.
