The first game of Tony Pulis' tenure at Crystal Palace ended in a narrow defeat to fellow strugglers Norwich City, leaving the Eagles six points adrift of safety at the bottom of the Premier League table. They have a good chance to bounce back with a win on Tuesday, when they host an underperforming West Ham United at Selhurst Park.
The Hammers have surprisingly struggled so far this season, with their 3-0 win over Fulham on the weekend their first victory in five league matches. They're only three points above the relegation zone and have won away from Upton Park just once in the league this season, meaning Palace may feel confident of picking up a point or three.
However, Tony Pulis is still confronted by a string of absentees, with Glenn Murray, Paddy McCarthy, Adlène Guédioura, Jack Hunt and Yannick Bolasie all unavailable. Sam Allardyce too has injuries to contend with, though there are hopes that Alou Diarra and Răzvan Raț could return from their problems in time to be involved on Tuesday.
