The LA Galaxy behind their attempt to redeem their disappointing early exit from last year's CONCACAF Champions League knockout rounds with a first leg trip to Costa Rica to face Herediano. A win today would go a long towards beginning to erase the bad memories from last year.
Bruce Arena has made a couple adjustments from the Galaxy's season opening win over the Chicago Fire. Sean Franklin returns to the right back spot with A.J. DeLaGarza shifting inside next to Omar Gonzalez. Hector Jimenez and Stephens enter the lineup in the midfield but the devastating duo of Robbie Keane and Mike Magee remains up front.
All those changes are intended the help the Galaxy hopefully control Herediano's speedy attack led by Yendrick Ruiz and Minor Diaz.
Herediano starting lineup: Daniel Cambronero; Cristian Montero, Marvin Obando, Pablo Salazar Sanchez, Waylon Francis; Warren Granados, Elías Aguilar, Jose Sanchez, Esteban Ramirez; Yendrick Ruiz, Minor Diaz.
LA Galaxy starting lineup: Carlo Cudicini; Sean Franklin, A.J. DeLaGarza, Omar Gonzalez, Todd Dunivant; Hector Jiménez, Juninho, Marcelo Sarvas, Michael Stephens; Robbie Keane, Mike Magee.
