Manchester City face a theoretically easy test as they host Championship strugglers Barnsley at home in an FA Cup Quarter-Final.
Roberto Mancini nonetheless noted Bradford's victory over Arsenal as a reason to be wary, although it is likely that he will name a rotated squad as he bids to keep his slim title hopes alive in the Premier League, even though the FA Cup is by far their best bet for silverware this season.
Despite the other giant-killings in the cups this season, the odds are stacked against a Barnsley side who are struggling in the Championship, although with nothing to play for, anything is always possible. A prestigious semi-final awaits, and while it would be a disappointment for City to only be in contention for one cup in March, anything is better than nothing - particularly with the prospect of meeting Manchester United at Wembley.
Manchester City injuries and suspensions
Out: Maicon (knee), Micah Richards (knee), Jack Rodwell (hamstring). In doubt: Sergio Aguero (knee), Vincent Kompany (calf).
Barnsley injuries and suspensions
In doubt: Stephen Dawson (ankle).
Manchester City could have Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany available after returning from injury but neither is likely to feature in a home game against a Championship side. Jack Rodwell is injured again, while Richards and Maicon remain out.
Barnsley only have Stephen Dawson on the injury list, and he could make his return from a lengthy spell on the sidelines, but is unlikely to start.
