Update: Bayern Munich 4-0 Barcelona, final score - Match report.

With Lionel Messi declared fit for Barcelona's Champions League semifinal against Bayern Munich, the possibilities for a serious curveball in the lineups were all but eliminated. Both sides are more or less as expected.

Jupp Heynckes has made one slightly surprising choice, opting for the more athletic Jerome Boateng over the in-form veteran Daniel van Buyten in defense. Mario Gomez is preferred up top to Claudio Pizarro and plays in place of Mario Mandzukic, who is both injured and suspended.

Barcelona have opted for Marc Bartra in defense over Alex Song and the recently recovered Eric Abidal. Tito Vilanova has previously played other players out of position to avoid using Bartra, but has been left with little choice, especially with Abidal having only played one game since his return to fitness. Alexis Sanchez is preferred to David Villa in the front three.

Bayern Munich starting XI (4-2-3-1): Manuel Neuer; David Alaba, Dante, Jerome Boateng, Philipp Lahm; Javi Martinez, Bastian Schweinsteiger; Franck Ribery, Thomas Müller, Arjen Robben; Mario Gomez

Barcelona starting XI (4-3-3): Victor Valdes; Jordi Alba, Gerard Pique, Marc Bartra, Dani Alves; Sergio Busquets, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta; Alexis Sanchez, Lionel Messi, Pedro Rodriguez
