Mario Balotelli let his temper get the best of him once again, and now AC Milan will suffer. The forward received a yellow card in the 2-2 draw against Fiorentina on Sunday, accumulating five yellows and giving him an automatic suspension for the next match. But, most likely frustrated by the officiating in that match, Balo let his lip get the best of him, cursing at the referee. In consequence, he was given an additional two-game suspension.
The draw in Fiorentina combined with the 2-0 Napoli victory sees Milan fall to four points out of second place. If they remain in third, they'll start in the Champions League qualification round next season -- so catching that second spot is pretty significant. Unfortunately for the rossoneri, now they'll be without one of their fantastic young strikers for three important matches: Napoli this weekend, scudetto heirs-apparent Juventus, and European-fighters Catania.
Since coming to Milan in January, Balotelli has scored seven goals for his new side, playing an impressive role in their quick rise up the table. The goal-scoring burden will shift to Stephan El Shaarawy. The youngster, with 16 goals on the season, has scored but once since SuperMario joined up.
