USA vs. Honduras: A goal at last as Altidore puts the US up 1-0

New, comment

After a dreadful 73 minutes, the United States have finally broke through against Honduras. Jozy Altidore did the damage but it was setup thanks to some excellent work from Graham Zusi and Fabian Johnson.

Graham Zusi -- who was bad in the first half -- finally got a quality finish after some excellent work on the left side and a the most subtle of touches on a ball from Clint Dempsey that moved the ball on to Fabian Johnson who was all alone on the left side of the Honduras area.Johnson zeroed on Jozy Altidore who hammered the ball past Noel Valladares, allowing US fans to exult in a cathartic celebration. It's Altidore's fourth goal in four games, tying a US goal scoring streak record.

It took forever but it was deserved as the US had finally begun to increase the tempo and put meaningful pressure on Honduras.
