Everton have completed the signing of Barcelona's Gerard Deulofeu on a season-long loan.

The Spanish winger had been linked with a loan move to Merseyside in recent weeks, and he makes up a series of signings by new manager Roberto Martinez after the club also completed deals for Joel Robles and Antolin Alcaraz yesterday.

Everton announced the loan for Deulofeu on their official website, with Martinez saying: "Gerard is a real diamond of Spanish football and a boy with incredible footballing talent and I am delighted that he has chosen to take the next step of his career with Everton."

The 19-year-old scored 18 goals in 33 matches for Barcelona's B team last season, and comes highly rated as one of the famous La Masia academy's most promising stars, although his talent is perceived to be somewhat raw. He was also given games for the first team, and recently signed a new long-term contract at Barcelona.
