The second Euro 2016 qualification matchday started on Thursday, and there were a handful of eye-raising results. The biggest shock came in Slovakia, where the unfancied hosts downed reigning European Championship champions Spain 2-1 on home soil.
There was another big surprise in nearby Slovenia, where the hosts downed Vladimir Petković's talented Switzerland side 1-0. Minnows Liechtenstein would've also been delighted to have earned a point from their match at home to Montenegro.
There was a rather less surprising result at Wembley, where England demolished San Marino 5-0, while Sweden held Russia to a 1-1 draw at home, even without the services of their talisman Zlatan Ibrahimović.
On Friday, Italy and the Netherlands were both seriously tested, but came up with wins. Saturday's big shocker came when Poland managed an upset of Germany, defeating the defending World Cup champions. Another round of fixtures starts on Sunday, and runs through Tuesday.
