Marco Reus' year is over. Borussia Dortmund announced the midfielder has a torn ligament in his right ankle, which will rule him out until 2015.

Reus injured his ankle in Dortmund's match against Paderborn Saturday. The good news is it is not the same ankle Reus hurt in the summer and kept him out of the World Cup. That was his left ankle, and this time he hurt his right.

"Reus could return to training at the start of 2015 when BVB begin their preparations for the second half of the season," Dortmund said in a statement.

After Dortmund plays Werder December 20, they have the winter break so they will not play again until January 31. That gives Reus some extra time to rest and if he can return after the winter break, he will have only missed five league matches. BVB have already qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League and Reus is expected to be back before the round of 16 in February.
