Manchester City have had a pretty poor start to the season by reigning Premier League champion standards, having been eliminated from the Capital One Cup by Newcastle, almost certainly dumped out of the Champions League by CSKA Moscow, and being sat six points adrift of league leaders Chelsea after just 10 games of the campaign. However, they should at least get back to winning ways against Queens Park Rangers this weekend.
QPR's win over Aston Villa a couple of weeks ago was only their second of the season so far, with the newly-promoted outfit currently sitting down in the relegation zone. They've shown very little to suggest they're going to be competitive in the Premier League this season, and anything other than a defeat to City in Saturday's late kickoff would come as a surprise.
Key player - Sergio Agüero (Manchester City)
So central has Sergio Agüero been to Manchester City this season, that there's a concern they may be too reliant on their injury-prone forward. The skilful Argentine has been one of the deadliest strikers in the Premier League through the campaign so far, and QPR's pretty poor defence will find it difficult to keep him quiet.
Key matchup - Edu Vargas vs. Gaël Clichy
If QPR are going to have any joy in this match, it's probably going to come on the counter-attack, and down their right side. The left side of City's defence has been extremely vulnerable so far this season, and Edu Vargas could cause problems for Gaël Clichy with his pace and skill.
Queens Park Rangers injuries and suspensions
Out: Alejandro Faurlín (knee), Jordon Mutch, Joey Barton, Nedum Onuoha (hamstring), Alex McCarthy (thigh), Rio Ferdinand (suspended). In doubt: None.
Manchester City injuries and suspensions
Out: Aleksandar Kolarov (calf), David Silva (knee). In doubt: Frank Lampard (thigh).
QPR, are still without midfielders Alejandro Faurlín, Jordon Mutch and Joey Barton, defender Nedum Onuoha and goalkeeper Alex McCarthy. Rio Ferdinand is suspended as punishment for an offensive tweet. Manchester City only have Aleksandar Kolarov and David Silva definitely sidelined, with Frank Lampard likely to be fit in time to make the squad.
