Arsenal have announced that veterans Per Mertesacker and Tomáš Rosický have signed new contracts at the Emirates. It's certainly good news for the Gunners, with both players having had successful seasons in Arsenal's title charge.

29-year-old centre-back Mertesacker had (literally) a slow start to life in the Premier League, but the 29-year-old has managed to adapt; currently enjoying his best season since moving to the England from Werder Bremen back in 2011.

Tomáš Rosický, meanwhile, is enjoying something of a resurgence, establishing himself as a regular in Arsène Wenger's setup again after a brief hiatus. The 33-year-old playmaker only made ten league appearances last season and looked set to depart, though has already almost doubled his appearances total in the current campaign.

Arsenal's contract renewal spree looks set to continue, with the Guardian reporting that midfielder Aaron Ramsey will have his salary doubled by signing a new five-year deal later this week. Watch this space.
