Manchester City vs. West Bromwich Albion: Preview, TV schedule and how to watch online

Manchester City need to beat West Brom on Monday to stand any chance of overhauling Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table.

David Rogers

Manchester City have only won one of their last four games, in a costly streak which appears to have all but ended their hopes of winning the Premier League title. Their game at home to West Bromwich Albion on Monday is one of their two games in hand on league leaders Liverpool, but even if they win them both, they'll still be three points in arrears. If they slip up here, Liverpool will be able to lose one of their final three games and still stay in front.

Unfortunately for City, West Brom are still scrapping for their lives near the bottom of the table. Pepe Mel's side are just three points above the relegation zone, albeit with a couple of games in hand with three of the four teams below them in the table. However, the Baggies haven't beaten City since a 2-1 home win back in 2008. That year, they finished bottom of the league.

For this match, City will be without Matija Nastasić and Yaya Touré through injury, though David Silva and Jesús Navas could recover in time to be involved. West Brom have Zoltán Gera and Claudio Yacob sidelined, with Scott Sinclair ineligible against his parent club. Jonas Olsson and James Morrison are in doubt.

Manchester City injuries and suspensions

Out: Matija Nastasić (knee), Yaya Touré (leg). In doubt: David Silva (ankle), Jesús Navas (ankle).

West Bromwich Albion injuries and suspensions

Out: Zoltán Gera (hamstring), Claudio Yacob (hamstring), Scott Sinclair (ineligible). In doubt: Jonas Olsson (achilles), James Morrison (ankle).
