Getting tips from Pep Guardiola is just one example of the special opportunities available to young players participating in MLS club academies across the United States and Canada. The League began requiring its clubs to field youth teams in 2007 and created incentives to allow them to sign players they develop. United), Gyasi Zardes (LA Galaxy), Wil Trapp (Columbus Crew) and more on the way.
