Edin Džeko may leave Manchester City for Fenerbahçe

The Turkish giants could use another forward as they battle to hold on to first place.

The story started with a few whispers, but after enough tabloids picked it up, the big boys are running with the news that Edin Džeko could be on his way to Turkish side Fenerbahçe.

As rumors go, this one makes a bit of sense. After all, Manchester City have just picked up Wilfried Bony from Swansea, hoping he'll help address their sudden inability to, you know, win. Plus, Manuel Pellegrini doesn't seem to be the biggest fan of the Bosnia international anymore. He may have scored 26 last season, but this year, he's made just 14 appearances in the league, just seven of those from the start. Worse, though, he's scored just two goals.

Fenerbahçe, though, think they can revive Džeko's scoring touch. The Turkish giants are currently top of the table, but fellow Istanbul clubs Beşiktaş and Galatasaray are right behind. And when Dirk Kuyt has given you your biggest return on the season, you gotta think maybe it's time to bring in another scorer.
