Liverpool not ready to let Rickie Lambert head to Hull

Sorry, Tigers, but it looks like you may need to look for a forward elsewhere.

It sounds like Steve Bruce wants all kinds of new faces, but topping his list is Rickie Lambert. That's bad news for the 32-year-old, who just managed to find his way back to Liverpool last summer. Still, the forward's had just two goals in 17 appearances for his childhood club, and so the Reds may already be set to let him leave.

But according to The Guardian, Liverpool do not expect any major additions or departures on Transfer Deadline Day. However, that may not thwart Hull City's plans -- perhaps they don't believe Lambert's departure would actually constitute a "major" move. Yet with Reds' target Danny Ings rumored to have signed a pre-contract with Real Sociedad, Liverpool will be even more unwilling to let Lambert go.

Still, Hull are probably set to beg for just about any goalscorer's services. They're sitting tight in the relegation zone, having scored just 20 goals in 23 games played. It may be that, without Lambert or similar, Bruce could be looking at the exit. But with Liverpool not looking to let players go, and with West Brom sniffing around, it seems like Hull may be better off looking elsewhere.
