Paris Saint-Germain just went down 1-0 at home to Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal, but the news just got a whole lot worse for the French giants: Thiago Silva left the match with an injury.
Silva limped off the pitch shortly after Neymar scored his goal, and while it's not clear what happened to PSG's captain beyond suffering a leg injury -- he was grabbing at the side of his leg, so it might be a thigh or hamstring injury -- there's no doubt that this is a huge blow for PSG.
Their defense was already struggling to hold Barcelona's elite front line at bay, and now they've lost the heart of that defense. Silva was replaced by David Luiz, a surprise inclusion in the squad since Luiz has been dealing with a thigh injury recently suffered against Marseilles. He wasn't deemed fit enough to start, however, so PSG have to hope that Luiz has enough in him to do what's needed for tonight.
