Swansea City have made a poor start to the season, and already rumours of Francesco Guidolin's imminent demise are swirling. Things aren't getting any easier for the veteran Italian coach, whose side welcome Liverpool to the Liberty Stadium in Saturday's early kickoff, having failed to win a single match since the opening day of the season. In their five subsequent league fixtures they've picked up just one point -- that, currently, is all that keeps them above the drop zone.
Liverpool, in contrast, have clicked into some fine form in recent weeks. Comprehensive wins over Leicester City and Hull City have come either side of an impressive win over Chelsea, giving Jürgen Klopp's side reason for optimism. It remains to be seen whether they really have finally managed to kick the inconsistency that has often dogged them, but for the time being, there's reason for them to be hopeful.
Heading into this match, Swansea will be without Nathan Dyer, while Federico Fernández faces a late fitness test. Liverpool's only enforced absences are Sheyi Ojo and Joe Gomez; Mamadou Sakho will once again likely be omitted by choice.
