Chelsea followed up a narrow defeat to Liverpool with a heavy one to Arsenal, and already certain unwelcome questions are being asked of coach Antonio Conte. He'll be hoping a comprehensive win over newly promoted Hull City on Saturday will ease the pressure.
It's certainly a game Chelsea ought to win, with Hull having picked up only one point from their last four league games. After starting the season with two straight victories, Mike Phelan's side appear to be reverting to the mean. There can be little doubt that they have one of the weakest squads in the entire division, and a long, difficult season is surely on the cards. Anything other than a defeat would be a fine achievement for the Tigers.
The hosts aren't helped by having a host of injury problems: Allan McGregor, Michael Dawson, Moses Odubajo, Alex Bruce, and Brian Lenihan are all out, and Ahmed Elmohamady is suspended. Chelsea, meanwhile, will have to do without Marco van Ginkel and Kurt Zouma, while John Terry faces a late fitness test.
