There were never going to be any easy groups in Copa America, but the United States drew just about the most difficult group possible. They'll face CONCACAF rivals Costa Rica, 2011 Copa America finalists Paraguay and James Rodriguez-led Colombia.
Mexico has a tough draw, too, and will only be slight favorites to get out of their group. Uruguay will be their biggest rivals, while Jamaica and Venezuela should be competitive. Argentina will face defending champions Chile in a rematch of the 2015 Copa America final, but will be expected to defeat Jamaica and Venezuela. Brazil are the top seed that got the easiest draw, against Ecuador, Haiti and Peru.
Here's the full draw.
The United States will play the opening match against on June 3 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Their other group stage games are at Soldier Field in Chicago and Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. They'll play their quarterfinal in Seattle if they win their group, or in New Jersey if they finish second. The tournament final is on June 26 in New Jersey.
