It's been a tough season for both River Plate and Boca Juniors, who are near the middle of their respective groups in the Argentine Primera. But they play the Superclásico on Sunday, and it could be the catalyst to turn their season around for either team if they can grab all three points.
Boca's start has been bad enough that head coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena was fired on Monday. Their new appointment is a popular one -- club legend Guillermo Barros Schelotto. He had success in his first job at Lanus and was hired to manage Palermo in Serie A, though he was ultimately unable to get clearance from UEFA to take the job.
River has the benefit of coming into this game rested. Boca had to play in Copa Libertadores mid-week, while River had the week off in that competition.
The only player missing for sure for River is Leonardo Pisculichi. Andres D'alessandro and Eder Alvarez Balanta are also slight doubts. Boca are without Cristian Pavon, while Pablo Daniel Osvaldo is also not expected to start. You can, however, expect to see Boca star Carlos Tevez, as well as River wonderkids Emanuel Mammana and Sebastian Druissi.
