There were a few talking points from the MLS week that was, as there always are, but the biggest one was probably New York City FC breaking their duck in their local rivalry and getting their first result in five tries against the New York Red Bulls, a 2-0 win at Yankee Stadium.
One of the key players in that win was NYCFC rookie Jack Harrison, who notched a goal and an assist in the game, and was selected SB Nation's MLS Player of the Week for Week 17.
It was a week for rookies and youngsters in general in the panel's vote, as two other rookies, Montreal's Michael Salazar and Seattle's Jordan Morris, also got votes, in addition to young players like Andre Blake and Jordan Hamilton who are finally getting a chance at the MLS level.
