Suddenly, it's all coming up Seattle Sounders.
For the second week in a row, a Sounders player earned SB Nation's MLS Player of the Week award, with midfielder Cristian Roldan taking the Week 24 honors, beating out teammate Clint Dempsey for the prize. The Sounders beat Cascadia rivals Portland 3-1 on Sunday, with Roldan notching a goal and an assist in the game.
It's an interesting blossoming for Roldan, a touted prospect but one who went under the radar last season in his debut campaign. Given far more playing time this season, he has slowly turned on the production, and with Seattle surging towards a playoff spot with little room for error, Roldan's emergence is certainly helping the cause for his team.
