USA vs. St. Vincent and the Grenadines lineups: Jozy Altidore returns and Kellyn Acosta starts

Injuries have forced Jurgen Klinsmann to make big changes.

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

After missing out on this summer's games due to injury, Jozy Altidore has returned to the starting lineup for the United States men's national team. They'll need a big performance from him in their World Cup qualifier against St. Vincent and the Grenadines, with Clint Dempsey unavailable due to injury.

Michael Bradley, John Brooks, Gyasi Zardes and Jermaine Jones are also unavailable for this match, with Alejandro Bedoya, Matt Besler, Graham Zusi and Kyle Beckerman slotting into their usual starting spots. Because Bedoya's moved inside, Fabian Johnson has moved up to the wing and Kellyn Acosta will play left back. While the 21-year-old FC Dallas star is a versatile player, he's spent much more time at defensive midfield and right back during his career.

The Vincy Heat are going with two strikers and some pretty attacking wingers, so their lineup suggests that they'll be trying to score, not just sit back and defend.

United States lineup: Brad Guzan; Kellyn Acosta, Matt Besler, Geoff Cameron, DeAndre Yedlin; Fabian Johnson, Alejandro Bedoya, Kyle Beckerman, Graham Zusi; Bobby Wood, Jozy Altidore

St. Vincent and the Grenadines lineup: Lemus Christopher; Roy Richards, Kevin Francis, Gavin James, Ajure Durham, Nazir McBernette, Theon Gordon, Emerald George, Oalex Anderson, Myron Samuel, Cornelius Stewart

Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. ET. You can catch the game in America on beIN Sports.
