US Open 2016: Schedule, TV coverage and live streaming for Friday

Novak Djokovic and Angelique Kerber will continue play at the US Open on Friday.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Novak Djokovic and Angelique Kerber will both be in action at the US Open on Friday. Djokovic, the top seed, went four sets in his opener on the first day of the tournament, but he didn't see the court at all in the second round as his opponent, Jiri Vesely, pulled out due to injury.

So Djokovic enters the third round well-rested, with a match against Mikhail Youzhny to deal with. Kerber, the second seed for the women, will face Catherine Bellis in her third-round match. Kerber is hoping to unseat Serena Williams as the No.1-ranked player in women's singles play. She can do that if she continues her strong play, though Williams looked great in her second-round victory on Wednesday.

Kerber is set to face unseeded American Catherine Bellis on Friday. That should be the final match of the evening, the second of two night matches from the main court. The first night match will see men's fourth seed Rafael Nadal in action against Andrey Kuznetsov. Djokovic will play on the same court earlier in the day.

Monica Niculescu and Caroline Wozniacki, both unseeded women, will start play on the main court bright and early. A match between American and eighth seed Madison Keys and Naomi Osaka of Japan will come second, with Djokovic's match third.

Play on Friday will begin at 11 a.m. ET on all courts. Television coverage will begin at 1 p.m. on ESPN and will run through 6 p.m. At that point, ESPN2 will pick up coverage for the remainder of the evening. Live streams of all courts will be available via WatchESPN, starting at 11 a.m.
