The men's singles semifinals at the US Open will take place on Friday, beginning at 3 p.m. ET from Arthur Ashe Stadium. Novak Djokovic, the men's top seed, will try and punch his ticket to the finals against No. 10 Gael Monfils. In the other match, No. 3 Stan Wawrinka will face No. 6 Kei Nishikori.

Djokovic is the defending champion at the US Open, having won the tournament in 2015. He previously won it in 2011 as well. He's the favorite in the match against Monfils, and has never lost to him in 12 prior meetings between the two. Djokovic won as recently as earlier this year at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 in Canada.

Nishikori scored an upset over Andy Murray in the quarterfinals to punch his ticket to the semifinals. Nishikori had struggled against Murray in the past, but prevailed over the second seed in a five-set match. He'll face Wawrinka, the third seed, who overcame unseeded Juan Martin del Potro in his quarterfinal match.

Del Potro, the US Open winner from 2009, played some of his best tennis this tournament and recently won the silver medal at the Rio Olympics, but it'll be back to the drawing board for him.

Wawrinka and Nishikori have played each other five times in the past, with Wawrinka holding three wins and Nishikori two. The most recent match, at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 in Canada, was won by Nishikori in straight sets. The last time Wawrinka won was in 2015 at the Australian Open.

The mixed doubles final will begin at 12 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN2, but the men's singles semifinals will be carried by ESPN starting at 3 p.m. and running until both matches have been played. The Djokovic vs. Monfils match will be first, with Wawrinka vs. Nishikori coming after. Live streams of all matches will be available via WatchESPN.
