I tried to lay it out somewhat in the introductory piece, but the old exercise felt focused primarily on the team as assets (upside, current contract, skills, etc.) with an eye towards who would be most valuable as the team tried to become championship caliber.
Now that they’re at that level, with their core pieces and little reason to shuffle the deck beyond a few potential players lower on the roster, that didn’t seem as applicable. Additionally, I do think there’s a gulf between regular season & postseason play, especially for a team like Milwaukee that’s likely laser-focused on the postseason. It felt like a more fruitful exercise to evaluate the roster on the merits of their ability to contribute during the Playoffs since that also should be the lens through which the front office views this team too, IMO.
You make a good point that evaluating the playoff roster when it’s in front of us and the team is finalized would be useful, but candidly, we don’t have the bandwidth for a drawn out exercise like this in the throes of the season! Also, this is a fun way to fill the offseason before training camp.
Maybe we can try out a "rank 16-1 in terms of playoff contribution potential" within a single piece before the playoffs start this year just to see how different everyone feels by then?

I went on and closed the poll a day early while Nwora was in the lead
Thank you to all who are voting in good faith (which is quite clearly all our lovely commenters) — and especially the Nwora crowd that helped save this poll from the Grayson Allen trolls.
I would really rather avoid having to use an external polling service for this exercise again this year.
I should've mentioned Pat, but I already think of him as critical; was angling to see how to fill in the PJT minutes
He already was a central part of smallball lineups and a major contributor — I’m not sure you can ask much more from him than what he gave you last year in 24 minutes/game. I wanted to see how filling in the 30 minutes/game PJ had might affect the team.

Thank you everyone for all these awesome questions!
Riley, Kyle and I are planning to record this weekend so we’ll try to get to as many as we can. If there are leftovers, I’m sure we’ll hold them for a future pod. We appreciate y’all.
