Apparently I'm the only one, but I'm actually feeling semi-optimistic!
Maybe because I had no hope for today (I thought A&M would run all over this defense, and I was right), but avoiding Tennessee part deux after another disastrous first quarter seems like progress. Vanderbilt and SC are winnable games, and I don’t think Arky is "no chance" territory.
They just barely squeaked by Vandy.
Mizzou’s got a puncher’s chance.

I feel this idea is one of those "good in theory/video game" ideas that doesn't work in practice.
Along with the "just let them score" and "use your timeouts on defense" ideas.
The problem is that in real life, the players on defense are actual people, not mindless automatons whose feelings you can casually disregard. I can’t imagine that Drink basically sending a message of "I expect you to fail" would have a positive impact on the defense’s state of mind. And if you want this defense to improve, sending that message is not what you want to do.

I'm at work, so no booze.
But the Roasterie has brought back its "Chai-der" seasonal drink (half chai tea, half Louisburg apple cider), and it is fantastic. Without a doubt the best autumn-themed drink at any coffee shop.
