I moved to Greenville from Atlanta almost 2 years ago and have really come to enjoy the city. Some food/beer recs:
Kitchen Sync – cool restaurant with a nice vibe and a lot of local food. I like their appetizer wings quite a bit. Their shrimp burger (and regular burgers) are also pretty popular.
White Duck Tacos
Both are pretty solid taco spots. I eat Farmhouse more because it’s closer to where I live but I probably like White Ducks’ Asian fusion tacos a bit more.
Home Team BBQ – a Charleston based spot that just opened in Greenville a few months ago and for my money is the best BBQ in Greenville (Smoking Pig is also pretty good if you’re staying closer in Clemson/Anderson)
Biscuithead – great brunch spot
My two favorites are Fireforge – right downtown just off the main strip, great variety of beers and styles – and Birds Fly South – in the Hampton Station complex, usually has a lot of sours but there’s a decent selection of other styles, grab some White Duck while your’re there.
Pangea and Double Stamp are two very new breweries that I’ve enjoyed so far. Pangea has a pretty big selection for being so new and has good pizza. Double Stamp has a smaller selection but is right behind Home Team. Pretty sure I’ve seen people get BBQ takeout and take it to the brewery.
8th State – pretty popular, not my favorite. A lot of their beers taste and look like fruit juices. Good every now and than but not my thing.
YeeHaw – Nashville based brewery. Lots of TVs. A little bro-y atmosphere. Beer is okay. Just got a hot chicken place to open a kitchen there. If you want to watch a game with your beer, this is the brewery to go to.
Southern Growl – out in Greer so I’ve only been once but big selection of their own beers plus some other locals. Food is pretty good too.
Think Tank – also pretty new. Limited selection last I went but a ton of potential. The beer they had was good and they have a huge building with a lot of outdoor space.
