An older Row guy at 70; lifelong sports fan. Grew up in Denver, saw my first pro baseball game in 1960 at Bears Stadium. First MLB game was Mets vs.Giants at Candlestick in 1969. Also been to games at Wrigley, old Busch, and old Yankee Stadium. Lived in KC from 1977-80 on a job assignment. My apt. was near Royals Stadium and I went to many games in the late 70s during KC's winning years. Don't remember much of young Clint Hurdle as a player, maybe it was mostly hype. I don't attend sports events as much as I used to as I have become more of a media junkie with TV and computer. To borrow from the late Jim McKay, I love sports for the human drama of it all; the thrill of victory, but oh the agony of crushing defeats. By now I can deal with both, at least I like to think so.
