Some of the people in this comment section clearly missed the "empathy" lesson in kindergarten.
I also want to be able to focus 100% on being excited for the upcoming football season, but I can’t, because the actions of the head coach overshadow my personal ability to be excited. We have all lost over a year of our lives, but so many people have lost so much more. Friends, family, loved ones, their own lives.
I lost out on experiences like my college graduation, but I got through that knowing that my family members would not be exposed to a deadly virus. I don’t care how much anyone "wants COVID to be over" – we all do. That doesn’t mean it’s over. There is no way to celebrate until we know Rolovich’s actions are no longer putting people in DIRECT harm. I am not perfect, no one is, but the standard must be higher. What blissful ignorance some might feel to be able to "overlook" that, when so many people before you have paid the price, and many continue to. Grow up. And if anyone is ready to blame this on "left leaning" politics and write it off, consider checking yourself and how you value politics over actual lives.
