My first memory of watching hockey on tv was a profile on Cam Neely during an intermission on hockey night in Canada. I was 5 years old and he was such a big awesome player at the time, that when I saw the spoked B on his chest, I knew that was team I would always cheer for. While my passion is hockey, (even though my family couldn't afford to put us kids into hockey) my faith and loyalty to my Saviour Jesus Christ comes first. I'm an easy-going almost 37 year-old, married for 10 years, done having kids, Coke drinking and chip eating-aholic. I build houses for a living, am self-employed (only way to go, no one can tell me I can't leave work early to watch hockey or sleep-in or skip out to play golf, or quit cause it's drizzling, or... you get the picture.) Ok, that's it for now. Maybe one day I'll write this all better, but for now, that's all I've got. Look forward to many friendly discussions in the future. Go Bruins!

I think you drop Kuhlman to the 4th and rotate him with Wagner. Give Ritchie a chance to settle in and see what he brings.

We don’t need the cap room now, not what I was saying, just better moving forward with Ritchie’s term. And he’s only 24 as well, cool, thought he was older.

Well, that’s what we gotta hope for, right? I like the fact we save a bit of cap room and if he can even be similar to Heinen in production you have to call it a win. I doubt Heinen is enjoying this though.

Ritchie just had 4 points last night? Wow. And 4 games of over 10 pims.

Still, Sweeney mentioned Kase as playing with Krejci OR Coyle, and rumors are they are still looking at stuff, so I don’t know. Sounds like they had something in mind but maybe nothing materializes. I think they could also experiment with Kase with Bergeron and Marchand a little so Pasta could play with Krejci, but I doubt that will happen much.

I’ve barely watched him play so I don’t know what all the hype around him is about. Anyone have a comparable player he is like?

Thanks, glad they will be ok, but that hurts their chances for a playoff push for sure.

link? google isn’t bringing up anything

Marleau just went to Pens for his attempt.

I don’t think he could take him off waivers, the contract with the kings wasn’t terminated until he cleared waivers I believe. But free agency, yeah.

Just saw that, was on a 9 hour drive today with the family. Think he’ll do better with the Caps than Montreal?

Panarin was ranked 8th for fantasy rankings coming into the season, and the 17th forward on the list of top players 1-50 by NHL.com. He’s definitely right up there, but he wouldn’t be in my top 5. Pasta wasn’t listed number 1 either, so take rankings with a grain of salt, haha.

Your problem is with management, not with us. They are the ones that play him. Since they think he should play, he obviously brings something to the table the team feels they need that they can’t find elsewhere. So, its trust in management as well as observation that says he should play. There have been weak spots in his game, first half of last year I really wasn’t too impressed, but he’s been much better this year. Like others have said, age will catch up soon enough and the point will be moot.

The 3rd line was excellent. Coyle is dominant like usual, Bjork is energetic and engaged, and Heinen, well, he just isn’t the most noticeable guy on the line but he gets himself into good areas and chips in with smart plays. The whole line would look better if they could start putting some more pucks in the net, but I feel pretty comfortable when we’re usually playing in the opposition end when they are on the ice.

I haven’t heard people saying they hate anyone. In comparing Bjork and Heinen, all i said is Bjork has surpassed Heinen in physicality. Only one aspect of hockey.

I don’t have a big opinion one way or the other on Heinen. I don’t think that just because he isn’t a big body checker that he can’t be effective, but I do believe he has more to give. Carlo’s first year he was this massive dude that gave love taps and now he has embraced the physical side of the game. A good example of Bjork with the perfect camera angle yesterday was coming into the corner right at the camera and making contact with the defender at high speed just to get a CHANCE of getting the puck. He wasn’t likely going to win, but he did it knowing he had NO chance if he didn’t. I appreciated that play. Heinen will make that play differently. I’m not saying he doesn’t battle hard, he just is "soft" on the physical contact side of things. That’s a mentality that can be improved, it just seems like Heinen’s progression in that area has been slower than some. Once you embrace it as part of the game, it becomes second nature, and I just don’t think he’s fully embraced that yet.

Gotta agree, Heinen is "soft". Even Bjork has passed him along the wall ability.

I think that was before Mac scored in OT the other day, but before a shoot-out win is most probable still.

This is precisely it Gringo, the elbow on MacAvoy the other day was far more dangerous than what Kassian did and it didn’t even get an honorable mention. This isn’t about player safety, it’s about perception (although not our perception anyway). Even if he does cut him, cuts heal better than brains.

"kick" is a real stretch. I watched the play, and it was more like a push. He didn’t do it uncontrolled either. It was never going to hit anyone’s neck as speculated either. Sure, he was upset, and he shouldn’t have used his edge to push off, and I understand if they fine or suspend him a game or two, but it wasn’t malicious and I don’t believe was done with any attempt to injure either. He knew the defenseman was protected in that area so it was a "safe" place to engage. I’m all for giving harsh suspensions for idiots, but this is really really tame in my books. If that was one of our players that did that I don’t think anyone would be arguing for much more than a fine unless it was Marchand.

Acciari was paired with 2 defenders as his wings and they each had 1 goal and 2 assists. They were also called with too many men when a 5th defenseman jumped on the ice early, so probably first time ever that 5 d were on the ice at once! Haha

I agree north. I don’t think anything needs to be moderated unless a person is being a complete idiot. This place is supposed to be for different opinions, so views (and even some politics) I think should be allowed as long as people are being respectful with each other. I hate the PC culture where we can’t have different views unless they’re "the right" ones. Let’s talk about it, or in the case of the Canadiens/Bruins, maybe get in a fight or two, :).
