I actually don't find the defensive ranking that surprising
Yeah, we had one bad quarter against Pitt and were out-talented by Florida, but the defense has largely passed the eye test this year. Our opponents have had to work for everything they got this season—Pitt’s yards-per-play against us was 2 full yards lower than any other game of their season.

I was honestly expecting something around 17
I feel like it’s very plausible for us to score a couple touchdowns against backups and turn a 28-point deficit into a 14-point loss—this team has enough talent at WR to strike, and they’re not so beaten down that they’re going to just fold. And then there’s the letdown spot for Florida, so there are a couple different ways to get a game under three scores.

next three matches, before the international break
are Philadelphia (away), Miami (home), and Montreal (away), so that will be a big week for playoff positioning.
after the break, our final six matches includes three against bottom feeders (Toronto x2 and Cincinnati), albeit two away, two against feisty-but-not-that-good teams (Miami, Red Bulls), and one against a legit playoff team (NYCFC)
