I love baseball, Star Wars, and coffee. I appreciate the little details of those things—sabermetric stats, the mythos of a galaxy far, far away, and single-origin beans. For work, I talk and write about books—I am the Product Manager for Lexham Press, a small Christian publishing house. I was educated to be a history teacher but I'm don't spend much time in the classroom. Instead, I volunteer with Rebound of Whatcom County, a non-profit organization that serves at-risk youth and underprivileged families. I've been married since 2012 to Megan. She chased her dreams by starting her own floral design business called Flourish Floral Design. Sometimes I write at jakemailhot.com too.

Because of the Thursday off-day, Logan Gilbert should be lined up to start a potential Game 163 on normal rest.
Gilbert would also line up to start the Wild Card game if the Mariners earn a playoff spot outright.
If there were a Game 163, things get a bit complicated afterwards. Marco Gonzales would be the next man up in the rotation but he’d be making a start on Tuesday’s Wild Card game on short rest. And if there are multiple tiebreaking games, things get even more complicated with Chris Flexen potentially getting called on to start on short rest too.

With the Monday off-day before the Wild Card game on Tuesday, the Mariners could start Logan Gilbert on regular rest.
Signs are currently pointing towards Kikuchi getting sidelined for his last scheduled start next week anyway.
