I was initially a Yankee fan since 1959, when I was growing up in Venezuela. After moving to California, in 1968 I shifted allegiance to the Oakland A's. I played little baseball in my life, though as an extremely kinesthetic person, I am keenly aware of our body's coordination mechanisms. I am familiar with much of body work, from Rolfing to yoga to manipulation in trans-personal psychotherapy. As part of my interest in bodywork I admire the physical-psychological requirements in playing BB. Thus, it is probably not surprising that my interest in BB is akin to my interest in ballet as a form of art, where the beauty of human body motion comes into play as an expression of harmony and coordination. From that viewpoint, BB is an exercise in choreography, rather than in statistics. I am currently abroad, so I have to follow the A's via computer, which makes me more dependent on statistics - I regret that deeply, though maybe it forces me to be more objective on the subject. However, a lot of statistics is still alien to me.
