I agree on the idea that Jakob and Dejounte ought to have shooters surrounding them. Lonnie and Keldon are, in my opinion. Starting McDermott may be a situational option if the opposing team plays small ball. Otherwise, I expect Young to start most nights at PF. He’s a better all around offensive player than Doug and a much better defender. Having him and Poeltl at frontcourt, with Lonnie and Keldon at the wings, as Dejounte pesters the ball handler would be awesome.
I’d expect Dejounte to continue his consistent play. White’s only issue is health. When healthy, he’s a fringe all-star caliber player. I am most excited about Lonnie Walker and Keldon Johnson this season because they’re the most to benefit from the departures of DeMar, Patty, and Rudy. We’ll see how they react to increased roles. It may be rough first few weeks, but I expect them to roll starting the 2nd month of the season.
