My mom ended up going to Cal's last game.
She originally had tickets for the last Red Sox game in that home stand that got rescheduled because of 9/11 and that game ended up being Cal’s last game. She lucked out.

Speaking of Memorial Stadium,
Ironically today is the 30th anniversary of the O’s last game on 33rd street. My dad and I last summer went up to the Waverly neighborhood since I had never been to the site before and I was born once the O’s started playing at Camden Yards. It was neat to actually see the grounds even though it looks totally different.
Also today is the 20th anniversary of Cal’s last game. He’s the last Baltimore sports athlete to have a number retired. I know the Ravens don’t officially retire numbers but I wonder who will be the next Baltimore sports star or Oriole to have their number retired. I don’t see any Orioles making the Hall of Fame anytime soon unfortunately.
