It’s just too bad we didn’t get a Cup last year. You have to have some luck and everything has to align right to get it. In the East, Tampa got swept. We got some luck in each series we played out West, plus the fact we were a good team. So what has changed from last year to this year? We let 4 key guys walk off of our team all because we had to sign a defenseman to a ridiculous contract for 8 years. I guarantee this guy will not be healthy and play 75 years in any season. Ottawa is now going to get a lottery pick out of this draft.

We will probably have a few more seasons like this. Karlsson for the third straight year will not finish the season. Did we get 11.5 mil out of him this year? He is a shell of his former self. Our window has closed whether you will admit it or not. Being runner-up for the Cup sucks. When you get to the Finals, you have to win it. It may be another 25 years before we get there. Dillon won’t stay in Washington, but once he makes another deep run with the Caps, he will resign with a contender. Colorado comes to mind.
