The Germany and Wales games are important because this window is the start of UEFA's 2023 World Cup qualifiers
The USWNT, Mexico, Brazil and Costa Rica games are just friendlies. To the extent that those matter, it’s because they keep the teams active (for a long time, many Central and South American countries wouldn’t even bring together their WNTs between qualifying cycles), and it also brings in revenue for the federations to support the programs.

East Link is like 80% done and still on track to open in 2023, and the Redmond extension is on schedule for a year later
The Lynnwood and Federal Way extensions are also still on schedule for 2024. It’s all the ST3 projects that are likely to fall behind, not the ST2 work that’s already underway, and other than the I-405 BRT project none of those were originally scheduled to open before 2030 anyway.

Interestingly, the Union also offered to host the Challenge Cup final earlier this year if it had to be moved from Portland due to Covid restrictions
In addition to honoring Lloyd, it seems like the Union are also potentially interested in testing the market for expansion. Philly was a decent market for the WPS a dozen years back…
Good news on the likelihood of Sunday's game happening as scheduled

Momiki's got dual US/Japanese citizenship so she counts as a domestic player
Same with Angelina and Miranda Nild, should she return to the team next year. Quinn doesn’t use an international spot because they’re a Canadian allocated player (I have no idea why that’s a rule, but we’ll take it…), and Fishlock, Celia and White all have green cards.
As far as we've been told, no players who have been called up will be leaving until after this weekend's game
And there are at least five Reign players heading to international duty, potentially a sixth if Shirley Cruz is called in by Costa Rica.

We have five international slots this year thanks to being part of that complicated trade that sent Crystal Dunn to Portland
They’re currently held by the three OL loanees, Shirley Cruz, and Jimena Lopez. I think Cruz will be departing after this year, which will leave Lopez and four open spots for next year, depending on whether any loanees decide to come back (or any new players come to Tacoma from Lyon.)
I feel like we almost need to just throw out all the stats from the first eight games of the season
If I had to pick nine today, I think I’d go with Barnes, Cook, Fishlock, Huerta, Lavelle, Balcer, Quinn, and then make a painful choice and pick one of (Hammond/Hiatt/McNabb) and one of (Weatherholt/King). Of course, this assumes no retirements or trades before then, which is always a big unknown. There are going to be some really difficult decisions and probably a bit of strategizing based on who they think other teams will expose.
One thing I feel confident in — I don’t think they’ll protect a goalkeeper. The team seems happy with both Tullis-Joyce and Dederick (to the point that they keep alternating as the backup keeper on the gameday roster), and since you can only lose one player from each position group that’s a risk they’re probably willing to take.

7 am is before sunrise at that time of year, so you're still technically just drinking the night away
Nothing yet, but I imagine they're still primarily focused on making sure everyone is healthy and safe
After that attention can turn toward figuring out what to do about the game, and identifying what led to the outbreak and whether there were any violations of league safety protocols, or if any safety and testing procedures need to be adjusted.

We have no idea if the players with the positive tests were unvaccinated or not
It’s abundantly clear that the delta variant does not care about your vaccine status and plenty of vaccinated people have tested positive through no fault of their own, albeit mostly with mild-to-no symptoms and quick resolution of the infection. Where vaccine status comes into play as far as league protocols are concerned is in whether other exposed players need to quarantine.

The league updated their policies a few months ago, vaccinated players are not required to quarantine even if they're deemed a close contact
Alas, that's par for the course with Danielle Chesky as the ref

The Mariners have a roof specifically so they don't need to postpone games and have home doubleheaders

The best likelihood in the long-term might be if the Reign can work something out with Seattle Schools when SPS rebuilds Memorial Stadium
But SPS keeps punting on that and the associated new high school project because they have other, more urgent infrastructure needs, so by the time they finally develop a plan the Reign will either have a shiny new permanent stadium in Tacoma or will have moved on plan B, C and/or D.

Yes, everyone other than Canada can catch every NWSL game on one of the four NWSL twitch channels
Canada’s in a weird limbo because parts of the country get some of the CBS networks. Everyone else can find the games on either the NWSLOfficial, NWSLOfficial2, NWSLOfficial3, or NWSLOfficial4 channel on Twitch (tonight’s game is on NWSLOfficial3, it appears).
