Not impressed with Askren. Askren came in with a lot of hype and a lot to prove. We se what he was now. I wanted Askren in the UFC years ago, wanted him to prove Dana wrong, he wasn’t close.

We’re spitting opinions here. I’ll change my over-rated comment to over-ranked. He’s a tier below those currently in the top 5. I liked Jorge, until he beat Askren and we heard him talk more. So maybe I’m biased because I don’t like him much, but his title shot is still arguable. If he beat Leon, Colby, or Tyron….I’d see it.

He beat Diaz in a match that meant nothing.

He beat Askren, who had his rating based on what he did in weaker promotions, and was obviously (based on performance and retirement) past his prime and out of his league.

And he caught Till, who is the only one that should have been ranked Top 10.

Lost to Wonderboy and Maia before that.

He is over-rated and over-ranked. If he gets a title shot, good for him, but he’s not THE contender by far. He should’ve fought Leon instead of Diaz to earn a shot.

Anyone who has followed the UFC or Diego knows, he’s been off since Day 1. He punked Stephan Bonner, ate his asparagus.

He’s overrated and has no shot.

Just a temporary top draw.

Triple C’s comment wasn’t malicious. I don’t even consider it unintentionally racist. I believe he was trying to make a clever play on a name. If Aljamain Sterling was white, there would be no mention of this comment.

It’s one thing to educate people on topics like this, another to slam a guy for innocuous behavior.
