I don't normally respond, but your condescending suggestion that I didn't do research is off base...
You can make numbers say/do what you want. And sure, if Garcia is at say 50%, then Taylor is the better option. But if Garcia is hurting THAT badly, he wouldn’t be playing. If you take Taylor’s last 10 games, he is 6-for-26 (.231) with 7 strikeouts, 2 walks, 1 RBI, 1 run. And that includes 3 weak/seeing eye singles in ONE game during that stretch. What makes you think that is "hot enough" to replace a guy who slugged .490 with 29 HR and an .820 OPS over the entire season? If you do, fine.
I know lots of people like Taylor (as do I) but he has plenty of his own warts. And if you want to disagree with me, by all means. I have ZERO issue with people disagreeing on opinions. But when you make the comment of "let’s do some homework before we write stuff," then I have a problem. One of the reasons I don’t write more often is BECAUSE I won’t write without the research…and I just don’t always have the time to do that.
So in the end. Disagree all you want. Maybe Taylor does play or should play, depending on the status of Garcia’s injury and its impact. But maybe do some homework about MY homework from past articles before you make a condescending comment. Thanks for reading!
