I have not been impressed by Bonilla.
- he’s aggressive and seems to win duels well
- he crosses well
- whether by design or not, he doesn’t get forward enough
- gets pulled out of position a lot, resulting in a lot of chances coming from his side of the field (watch him when he’s marking off the ball, he’ll often follow his mark to the middle 1/3 instead of switching off, leaving plenty of room for the opposition’s overlaps)
- he’s a cheap-shot artist, and initiates a lot of rash challenges that look like he’s either trying to injure someone or start a scuffle. not exactly the style of player that I’d like to root for

"I feel we as supporters in this situation should do just that and support the players and their demands rather than making up our own."
Whether or not you agree with the Portland SG’s demands, the relationship between players and club is pretty different than SG’s and club. It’s perfectly acceptable that SG’s scope of requests* are broader-scale than players’, simply because supporters are in it for a much longer haul, and are much more tied into the identity of a club than players who typically are only contracted for a few years at a time. SG’s have better ability to keep FO’s in check over periods of time while there is turnover amongst staff and players.
*I really wish they hadn’t framed it as ‘demands’… too early to play that card imho

Yeahhhh about that
Lol at the "let’s just wait until the self-investigation by the wealthy good ol’ boy is concluded before we pass judgement" camp. We’ve seen this movie. We’ll only get the ‘results’ as filtered through the PR machine. The only way GW goes down is if he becomes a financial liability.

"...they would get turnovers, in the final third even, but they couldn’t convert. It seems they have a better conversion rate when they have longer breakouts."
Yes, this. At some point teams are going to adjust and not send as many forward. Gio hopefully is anticipating this and has something up his sleeve.

I think we'll know more after tomorrow night...
but they’ve been so careful with him that I don’t think it happens, especially considering it’s a home game against a weak non-conference team. Maybe start Asprilla up top w/ Moreno on the wing and ride that out 60 before bringing in Niezgoda.

oof, I was thinking Cascante since ATX just played the Gals
And apparently my brain is mush.
But Farfan has 22 appearances (!), which is 2 more than Bravo. (Yes, not lately, though.)

Cascante has 23 appearances, Villafana has 21.
Not bad trades, but we didn’t exactly swindle anyone with bench fodder.

It was a horrible head-to-head collision with Abubakar.

"Which, as an aside, why are people so worried over the "value" of their season ticket?"
Personally, I live out of state and just want to make face-value back for each game. Def taking a loss this year but that’s the price of covid.

If that's the case he shouldn't be in the 18 at all.
I got nothing
Since the CO game was blacked out and there’s no replay available for this one. Haven’t been able to catch the last couple games.
