Yeah that’s the thing that I think people forget.
The UFC owns all the fighters. Sure, fighters still have managers that try to get them better deals when their contracts are up but once they’re under contract the UFC owns those contracts so it’s all in-house for Dana and company.
Boxing is a different animal. Boxers have different promoters and every fight can be a different deal for some fighters so getting fights made is a bit harder. Not to mention every "big time" boxer is going to want top billing. Wilder/Fury would never fight on a Canelo under card and vice versa. Imagine:
Floyd vs. McGregor II (just for giggles)
Canelo vs. TBD
Fury vs. Joshua
Charlo (pick which one) vs. TBD
How much would that run on PPV? Not to mention which network would carry the event as not all fighters fight under the same network like UFC fighters.

Wilder is a gangster man...the dude would rather die before giving up.
While I respect the toughness, I respect his corner even more. You could see the love and the hurt in the eyes of his cornerman that holds the pads for him. He knew Wilder wouldn’t be happy but he also loves and cares about Wilder likely more than Wilder loves and respects himself.
All credit to Fury and credit to Wilder for even taking the first fight with Fury but to rematch him, that’s mad respect man. Best should fight the best and I respect both guys.
But the winner of the night in my opinion is Wilder for making a gutsy call even knowing Wilder just needs one good right hand to win the fight. Great cornering and Bayless did a heck of a job in that fight.

I was rooting hard for Fury
…but I could never be 100% sure because Wilder has game-changing power. I kept telling my brother and wife that was how Fury would to fight. Make it ugly and smother Wilder so he couldn’t get his right hand off.
Amazing performance by Fury. What a great story that guy is.

Yeah without context it would have been borderline disturbing
Reading the whole article it makes sense. I love The Happy Warrior man. I am also of the belief that she was winning regardless but Barber does have power and a killer instinct so someone like her is never truly out of a fight but I believe Roxanne would have won.

I don’t think it’s a KO of the year candidate
And trust me I love this kid. I’m high on this kid, have been for a while now. But being honest this is a routine KO in my opinion.
I want to see this kid step up in competition. I understand how the climbing up the ladder works in boxing (one reason I love the UFC), but it’s time for Garcia to climb up a few steps.
Great KO for the kid, in the first round. He should be ready to go by April or early May (Cinco De Mayo perhaps).

Who didn’t win round 2?
And yes I missed that two incompetent judges scored round 2 for Jones.
I’m baffled.

Officially you won Jon. On the score cards.
But most would say that Reyes tried once and won. So you’re 1000 times thing seems dumb right now. You have to be real with yourself, go look at that fight and look in the mirror and convince yourself you won that fight.
You lost bro. I thought you lost to Gus the first time. The closest fight you were in that I thought you did win was against Santos.

No need to be disrespectful
The name calling is childish. We can respectfully disagree. I’m not being bias, I think you might’ve misread what I typed. When I say "which fighter I’d rather be" and how Kellerman explains it is, I’d rather be the fighter that took less damage, the fighter that had better defense, the fighter that was able to score more strikes, do more damage, etc. not "the fighter I’d rather be because I like them as a person or a fighter in general".

I don’t understand how people scored round 3 for Jones
It was close, yes it was but it wasn’t THAT close. I’m having a hard time understanding how people scored round 3 for Jones and even harder how a judge scored round 2 for Jones.

Go back and rewatch that round
Reyes scores the most damage in that fight. He had between 2 and 4 telling blows. Not many but in consideration to what Jones did it was much better.
I score fights how Max Kellerman scores fights. Who would I rather be at the end of a round, whatever fighter I’d rather be at the end of the round is who won that round for me.
The 3rd round was close, the closest of the fight but if you really sit down and judge the fight per the scoring criteria or by which fighter you’d rather be, Reyes won that round. I’d like to say in my opinion but I think most people feel that way. Furthermore, a judge had Jones winning round 2 which is even MORE ABSURD than you thinking Jones won round 3.

Reyes won that fighr
That judge was high on crack and should be suspended for scoring 4 rounds in favor of Jones.
It wasn’t a hard fight to score ladies and gents and the math is easier than 3rd grade public school math. Reyes won 1, 2, 3 and Jones won 4, 5. That is 3 rounds to 2. This fight wasn’t hard to score at all. It’s actually one of the easier fights to score of the night.
