I’m just not really on board with this deal. Right side of the defense seems pretty solid so that leaves Green playing on his offside or being the 7th man. Then this deal really prevents us from getting another small deal done. The cap room we had left open is now gone. 3rd and 4th round picks are locked into this deal. Would have been great to at least get a minor forward upgrade but Holland is going to have to get real creative to get that done.

We were getting LTIR relief so I think this at least put’s us right at the cap moving into tomorrow.

This season he’d be a nice addition at 5v5 but no way in hell is he worth a 1st. 3 more points than Chiasson with over 100 minutes more on the ice. That’s just not enough of an upgrade for me.

Hard to ignore Kassian playing the entire season with McDavid but he has 7 more points in roughly the same amount of time on the ice. Impossible to say what Kase would have done on McDavid’s wing over the same span.

This season, Kase has not been worth a 1st and isn’t a clear upgrade over our salvage pile of depth players pretending to be in the top 6. Even look at Josh Archibald Their is only a small gap in each players p/60 this season.

Not sure what you are after in this conversation but that’s a source backing the $8M long term claim. Please feel free to tell me the number Nurse would have signed for on a 8 year deal. I’ll wait.

I could hand deliver you a signed affidavit of Nurse saying he asked for $8M per on a long term deal and you still wouldn’t believe it because it doesn’t jive with the narrative you are trying to deliver.

You wanted proof that it came from somewhere and I provided a source after 5 seconds of googling. Matty might not be a great source but just wanted to show the $8M number didn’t come out of thin air.
