1) We are going to struggle to win any games. We need other teams best players to get hurt or be on COVID pause with us having everyone back. Having 3 centers on the roster is an awful idea and last night put a spotlight on it.
2) We should just go hire Pitino at this point. Blair & Pickett were four year players but that is a novelty now. Patrick isn’t getting guys to Gtown as freshman and getting them to graduate. They are transferring and the kids we bring in who get that Gtown degree didn’t start with us. Pickett/Blair/Walker was that class, he was 67% with that group, McClung/Akinjo/Leblanc/Carter he was 0 for 4, Ighoefe/Wilson/Wahab if all goes perfect he will be 67%, Harris/Clark/Holloway/Berger/Sibley he will be 60% if all goes perfect. So 7 out of 12 if no more transfers in the Junior and Senior class. Is that what Georgetown is about? We are playing a professional pick and roll system with guys who largely weren’t even top 100 recruits. The result seems pretty obvious at this point. I stated earlier that if we could get old we would be fine but how do you get old with all the turnover. Can this freshman class withstand this much losing and all stick around for years 2 and 3? If so, I’ll eat my words but I have lost faith. I’ve been at both Marquette and Butler games and its just not really worth the effort.

Who do you yank him for? There was no one left on the bench. We had 3 centers last night (BTW, Ryan is the only one with any redeeming potential at this point). You had Chuma get legit minutes first half. You have Rice who either doesn’t care about D or is just not smart on that end. Carey, Clark, Harris all out.
It was ugly. Aminu needs to trust his teammates. There was no trust there last night. Butler STINKS!!!! They had one guy who could get a bucket and outside of that they just try to out muscle you. I can see us not getting a W in conference. Realistically we probably play better a couple times and maybe win 2 but every squad is better then us.

Final games tally?
I’m guessing you are looking at maybe 16 total games now. I’ve got to assume that with a mountain of cancellations for the next month, it is going to be really hard to reschedule all of those. 16 would be a great number if teams can get to that number in light of where things stand currently.

Please tell me you are a Cuse fan Disco who got onto this board to make a few snarky comments and now is the Jenny McCarthy of Casual hoya. It will make me feel much better.
I’ll go with the BS blog spewer! Kidding, thanks for the input. Probably what we are going to do. Everyone has been very diligent.

?. I play in an older man game. Ages 35-50. We stopped for over a year. We started back in June of ‘21 requiring all players show vax cards. We are now requiring all players to reshow boosters. We won’t be playing over holidays but should we pause again for a few weeks as this runs hot or should we carry on? Just wondering how risky our behavior is. The trade off is we are old and if we hang it up, turning it back on isn’t as easy as it used to be.

But there are also 700,000 of them that are dead (5.4 million globally). Yes, most didn’t get a chance to get a shot and most countries would envy our vaccine availability. These are first world rich country problems. Nobody in India or Kenya is turning down the shot. You should be able to keep on living without the shot, but the luxury of going to games and flying, no. Every Hoya player has taken it and that should be the focus. If your team is fully vaxxed, reschedule. If not, L.

Disco, it’s not about me worrying about my vaccines. It’s about the common good, men and women for others, and some of that other Jesuit education stuff. You do you man but I just don’t think you should be able to be a normal participant in society as we know it. Back to hoops, don’t you think kids should be able to play if they are asymptomatic?

I hope so
I say this as a boosted person with vaxxed children and someone who will wear a mask if I am indoors in a crowd, let them play! Get rid of the fans first but assuming some of this is asymptomatic, we need to treat this like the Michael Jordan flu game. The next few months are going to be bonkers and I feel truly bad for those who will have to shut in due to being immunocompromised.
We are in year three of this. We should have vax requirements in stadiums, on planes, in restaurants, and anywhere else that has crowds and for those that don’t like it, you have a choice to make. This isn’t that hard. We would be facing this surge even with 100% vaccination but damn, it would be a lot easier if people would just finish that epic research they are doing on youtube & facebook and get the shots.
