The starting SFs and Saric combined to shoot 357, that is bad, 27 points on 28 shots, less than 1 point a shot is a disaster
The shooting problem was the team 6/34 from 3, that is 176

I had a paper route, and the first thing I bought was a Panasonic stereo at Bob’s Music (?) in Christown.
Laying on the bed with my eyes closed listening to Al are great memories, Hot Rod Hundley ‘from the parking lot’, ‘good like A-1 beer’
Van was great on the radio and tough as nails on the court.

We used to get to games early, one of our parents would take us the other pick us up. In those days you could walk down to the court.
On an early Suns Lakers home away back to back, a friend and I were standing on the edge of the court watching Jerry West warm up, he was the only one on the court and nobody else around. The previous night we had watched ‘The Flying Dutchman’ hold West to 7 points. We were big mouthed 12 year olds, yacking it up and my friend says ‘Hope Van holds you to 7 points again’, West retrieves his shot, pivots and lets go of a chest pass right into my friends belly!
Van is the Original Sun and we couldn’t have a better one. His flying drive was an awesome shot that all kids tried to emulate.
