I grew up in Santa Cruz. Lived there between 1980 and 2000. Since 2000 I have been living in the Silicon Forest to the west of Portland, OR. I am a Portland Winterhawks (WHL) fan to go along with being a devout follower of the San Jose Sharks. I remember The Cow Palace! I've got signed cards and pucks from members of the original team and I've kept my copy of the November/December 1992 Sharks Magazine pristine (beyond several autographs applied to it). While "The Tank" was under construction my Father, an Architect, and I approached the arena. My Father had the brilliant idea to pull out some blue prints to carry along with us. We were given hardhats and allowed to wander the facility. I told him section 103 was our place and we had season tickets there in row 11 until I moved out of the state. I played Roller Hockey with Shawn Cronin and Tom Pederson down in Scotts Valley. I interviewed Friesen, over the phone, for NHL.com which then and now sounds like a kid whom was awestruck.
